This special issue, organized by the French research group MASCOT-NUM, is in the honor of Anestis Antoniadis.
Numerical modeling is increasingly developed in a wide range of domains: engineering, life, sciences, economics, … Mathematical approaches of uncertainty treatment and model exploration have became essential tools in order to support conception, design, decision, prediction, etc., especially when the computer code involves complex phenomena and large cpu times. This special issue proposes to compile recent mathematical and theoretical advances on this subject. It includes, but are not limited to, the following topics:
- design, analysis and modeling of experiments,
- uncertainty modeling, uncertainty propagation and sensitivity analysis,
- rare events estimation,
- statistical inverse and optimization problems,
- spectral methods for physics' equation,
- computational statistical methods and Bayesian approaches for computer experiments,
- functional analysis for computer experiments,
- functional data,
- etc.
